Mrs. May, our District Nurse, (drive) home al 3 a.m. one night after an urgent visit to a sick patient. She (drive) along a country lane, when she (see) a new kind of animal. She (stop) her car and (get ond). The animal (be) clearly visible in the light of her headlights.

It (look) like a hedgehog with a tall white hat. It (cross) the rood without paying any attention to Mrs May. When Mrs May (go) elose to it, she (notice) that there was a plastic yoghun pot on the hedgehog’s head. The poor creature’s head stuck in the plastic pot! Her instincts as a nurse (tell) her she must save it, so she (prull) at the pot, but the hodgehog (pull), too. Afler a struggle, she (putt) the pot off the hodgehog’s head. MrsMay(ihinkjthe hedgehog (look) rathersad, when she (notice) that the pot was half full of strawbery yoghurt. She (give) it back to the hedgehog.
